Shepton Mallet Prison Visit

On Thursday 12th December, the children from Owl Class visited one of the oldest prisons in Britain (in Shepton Mallet) as part of their topic on 'Crime and Punishment' through the ages.  The prison is no longer in use but is open for visitors and the children took part in a guided tour of the site.  The tour began with the children being 'processed' for their 'crimes' and having to wear the standard issue orange boiler suits.  They then visited the cells and the exercise yard to find out what life was like for prisoners throughout history.  Take a look at the photos from the day...
