GEMS Leader Election

In November, the children took part in a school election to vote in the new house captains - known as 'GEMS Leaders'.  17 children put themselves forward for election and prepared a speech and poster to persuade the rest of their team why they should vote for them.  During Friday Assembly each of the candidates delivered their speech to the rest of the school using a video link via the (PTA funded) webcams in each class - a great example of British Values in action! The children enjoyed exercising their democratic rights and, after the votes were counted, 8 children were appointed as GEMS Leaders.  The new GEMS Leaders can be seen below, proudly wearing their new badges.
