Chinese New Year - Year of the Tiger

In February the children enjoyed a fun-packed week of activities to mark the Chinese New Year.  The youngest children in the school made Chinese lanterns, painted blossom trees, copied Chinese numbers and made pagodas from wooden blocks of all shapes and colours.  Other classes made Chinese drums, fact-files and coloured Chinese-style masks.  The subject of dragons was the focus for the Woodpecker class who made small clay dragon eyes, complete with stunning colourful pupils. They also created intricate Chinese symbols for courage, loyalty, love and sincerity.
