Children's Parliament 2018

On Friday 16th March, a group of Ashcott children took part in the Somerset Children's Parliament.  The event took place in the Council Chamber at Shire Hall, Taunton and was attended by lots of MPs and important people from around Somerset.  There were 10 schools taking part and each school did a presentation on a topic of their choice, with the theme: 'Giving Children a Voice'.  Our school talked to the audience about the problem of rubbish, and in particular, plastic pollution's effect on wildlife around the world.  The Ashcott Children's Parliament team made us all very proud and came in 3rd place overall - well done to all of the children who took part!
