Architecture Workshop

On Monday 11th June, the whole school took part in a series of exciting architecture workshops throughout the day.  The sessions were led by Alice Grant who travels around the country, carrying out a variety of architecture activities for schools.

Each class worked collaboratively to create 3-dimensional structures using wooden canes.  The structures were then combined to build a class structure using all of the children’s work.  The children were able to investigate the mathematical properties of the shapes whilst they worked, as well as interacting with the structure itself.

We would like to thank SOAP (Supporters of Ashcott Primary) for funding the workshops and Mrs Chamberlain (Maths Subject Leader) for organising a fantastic, fun-filled day!
